Nellore is the centre of the coastal Andhra rice trade and one of the largest markets for sona masuri, parboiled and raw white rice.
The Krishna and Godavari delta districts of Andhra Pradesh grow two rice crops a year on canal irrigation.
We buy parboiled rice directly at Nellore during peak arrivals, before the lots move to Ahmedabad for processing and packing. Buying at the source market means the widest choice of lots and no trader margin between the farmer and our customer, which is how we hold both quality and price.
